This book provides a history of Colchester Rifle Club which From its formation in 1900 quickly became one of the country's premier shooting clubs. Set against the background of the Middlewick Military Ranges the book shows the development of the club through the activities of a dedicated group of members.
The club produced a number of outstanding early shots, notable among them John Tippins who represented England, including in the 1908 Olympics, until his death in action during the First world War. It has continued to produce notable shots up to the present day
